Transcript: What’s the deadliest animal in the world? Mosquitoes. Don’t let their small size fool you. These tiny pests are responsible for around 750,000 deaths per year. Besides leaving itchy bites, mosquitoes can also carry potentially deadly illnesses. Take thee steps to protect yourself from harmful mosquito bites. Stay inside with air conditioning, and make sure your windows and doors have screens. Mosquitoes lay their eggs in standing water, so dump any water from flower pots, buckets, trash containers and toys. If it’s not too hot, wear long sleeves and long pants. And use insect repellent at all times. If you’re bitten and develop a fever, headache, rash, or muscle of joint pain, visit your healthcare provider right away.
